Player of the Week:The ENTIRE Abeliene Christian Offense-Simply put when you score 93 points in a PLAYOFF game its a guaranteed winner.
Dissapointment of the Week:Maryland Terrapins-Its Senior day, you know you have the best chance to win it all, and yet you lose 37-3...wow, no wonder no one takes this team serious.
Surprise Team of the Week:Oregon State Beavers-Many people doubted them when they faced USC, many doubted them when they said they would run the table, many more doubted that they would beat Arizona, and even more arrived when Jacquizz Rodgers got injured. But the Beavers shocked the world again winning the game. Now with only Oregon left the Beavers hope to win out and get to the Rose Bowl.
Current Conference Check-Up:
ACC:
Atlantic:Maryland and Wake Forest is eliminated leaving Boston College and Florida State. The Noles have finished their ACC schedule but BC has to play Maryland on Saturday. If BC wins then they will go to the conference championship game.
Coastal:Miami and North Carolina are eliminated leaving only Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are done but the Hokies need to beat Virginia in order to win the conference.
Big Ten:Penn State won by beating Michigan State 49-18.
Big East:Cincy can clinch it Saturday by beating Syracuse. However, a loss and two WVU wins against Pitt and USF will give the Mountaineers the conference.
Big XII:
North:Missouri has already won
South:If Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State then you would think that they would jump Texas. However, a loss by OU and suddenly Texas Tech is back in. However, the Red Raiders need to beat Baylor to stay alive. For Texas they need both to lose or have both win and be voted ahead of both in the BCS standings.
C-USA:
East:East Carolina has already clinched it
West:If Houston beats Rice then they clinch it. However, shall Houston lose then Tulsa clinches it.
MAC:
East:Buffalo has already clinched it.
West:Ball State clinched it after beating Western Michigan.
Mountain West:Utah clinched it by beating BYU 48-24.
Pac 10:If Oregon State wins they clinch it. However, if Oregon State loses to Oregon then USC would get it UNLESS the Trojans lose to UCLA on December 6th. Oregon could clinch it with a win over Oregon State and a USC loss to UCLA pending on how the Pac 10 Committee determines it.
SEC:
East:Florida has already clinched it.
West:Alabama has already clinched it.
Sun Belt:If Arkansas State beats North Texas then they will play Troy on December 6th for the Conference Championship.
WAC:Boise State clinched it after beating Nevada on Saturday.
Thats all for now we'll see you next week and enjoy Thanksgiving 2008.
